Planning Intensity

There is no all-purpose percentage split. In a small study of trained endurance athletes, different nine-week intensity distributions produced different performance results; it does not establish one template for every athlete or goal. Equipment and Variables

Chest straps and wrist monitors are consumer training tools, not medical assessments. Readings can differ by device, fit, movement, and conditions. Heart rate can also vary with heat, hydration, sleep, stress, altitude, medication, and stimulant use.
